Animal farm essay

In Animal Farm, written by George Orwell. Boxer was an inspirational character. Boxer never looked or thought to give up. I Personally admired Boxer because I thought he was an inspiration to me and to the other animals, he portrayed what it was like to be a hard worker and to never give up. “I will work harder!” was Boxer’s solution to every problem. Loyal and caring were one of the main personality traits Boxer had which made the animals like him more. Napoleon promised less work but throughout the novel, Boxer was working harder and harder. Boxer gave me a better understanding because he gave the vibe that Napoleon was becoming a dictator and taking over the farm.

Boxer posses all of the characteristics that I admire. Determined, loyal, caring and helpful. He was the easiest animal to talk to if there was a problem. Not only willing to work harder or longer, but he was also willing to help anyone.”Boxer was the admiration of everybody.” He believes that if he works harder that he will have the best care in his retirement. Boxer would listen to anyone if they had a problem, even if it meant staying up all night. Boxer was super loyal and always 100% loyal to Napoleon. A good friend of mine is always determined and wanting to help someone. He likes to help out with anything no matter what it was. All of the time he is helpful determined caring and loyal.

Boxer was an inspiration to me. Boxer showed what it was like to be a hard worker. “Boxer is the strongest animal on the farm. ” He was always working hard and was always keen to push himself that little bit harder. Boxer was not the animal to give up, if there was any problem on the farm boxers solution was “I will work harder.” Boxer inspired me to work harder and never give up. Always have an ‘I can’ mindset.’ To do your best and never give up because it can benefit you. He was always determined to work to his full potential! “Watching Boxer work, an inspiration to the other animals.” Every time I do something Boxer will always be in the back of my mind to always work to your full potential no matter what! Gilbert Enoka came to speak to our school in assembly and he really inspired me to be the best I can and do everything to my full potential. Boxer was inspiring and every time I read the book he was helping me understand.

My understanding of the novel was helped with Boxer. The way Boxer was working from the beginning to the end was a sign of how Napoleon was taking over the farm and how he took advantage of the amount of power he had. Throughout the novel, I see that Boxer was having to work harder and harder. Napoleon was smart enough to realise that Boxer was willing to do anything for him and work harder. Everything Napoleon said, Boxer would do. This was an indication that Napoleon wasn’t actually wanting to be equal with the other animals.”Impossible!” cried Napoleon. “We have built the walls far too thick for that. They could not knock it down
in a week. Courage, comrades!” He was just using them and making them do all the dirty work so he could have the best luxuries and care for himself.

In Animal Farm, Boxer works harder and harder throughout. Increasing my understanding. He was a role model, an inspiration and has great characterisitcs. which make other animals look up to him.

Hi Rory,

Remember you need to answer both parts of the question. At this point you have still only addressed the things that you liked about Boxer and the reasons why you like him. You need to turn these reasons into explaining how this helped you understand ‘Animal Farm’ as a whole text. At the moment you are only focusing on the character of Boxer, you need to discuss the entire text.

Hi Rory,

Remember to make specific connections to the world outside the novel as well. This shows a deeper understanding and connection with the novel as a whole. In each paragraph you need to discuss how your emotional connection played a role in your understanding. Remember to also have a quote as an example in every paragraph as well.

HI Rory,

Be careful not to repeat yourself. You have two paragraphs about how Boxer was a great role model because he was a hard worker. You need to expand beyond this. How did his being a hard worker help you understand the novel? how did your seeing him as a role model help outline the themes? Avoid simply saying what Boxer did or what he was. Extend into how this was shown, what language features were used, how they were used.
